Seong Lai Bak Kut Teh (non-Halal)

One of the more well-known Bak Kut Teh outlets that have been around for a long time, you can’t miss this one as it is always crowded on weekend mornings. If you prefer the thicker & darker version of Bak Kut Teh with a stronger herbal scent, then this is THE place to go.

The young boss happens to be my sister’s ex-classmate, who – upon graduation – got into a pretty good job in Singapore, before deciding to come back to his hometown to run this as a family business. Rather than the typical long hours in corporate life, he now works half a day like most other BKT outlets or restaurants and he’s probably earning a lot more while living the good life.

Being the corner lot, it’s definitely not stuffy and the environment is pretty cool in the morning. Besides BKT, they also serve bitter gourd soup, a variety of green vegetables, eggs and even fish.

If you’re around town, be sure to check it out. It’s not too hard to spot, the shop’s right below the MCA Kuala Langat branch.
